Hope Flies Health Series & Awareness Programs:
The Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine hosts and partners a variety of awareness and informational events to further our mission and help hasten the development of treatments for mitochondrial and related diseases.
Hope Flies Athlete Program:
Hope Flies Athlete Program allows you to participate in any athletic endeavor, a 5K, 10K or any event of your choosing. It’s a great way to bring people together from different age groups, communities and backgrounds. It also is a tremendous way to raise money for mitochondrial research in honor of someone you know who is suffering or a life that has been lost to a mitochondrial disease.
Since 2013, Hope Flies Athletes have participated in marathons, such as the Boston Marathon, Peachtree Road Race (Atlanta, GA), Jacksonville Marathon, New Orleans Marathon. HFA and Team Firefly have also participated in the Firefly Run, Luminate Run, The Lantern Run, The Color Run and numerous other events across the nation.
Partners for the Cures:
The Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine has launched its Partners for the Cures program. FMM joins retail partners and entertainment venues throughout the country to host special events to benefit FMM. Partners for the Cures donate a portion of the proceeds generated from these events and introduce FMM to their own patrons, both raising funds and increased awareness. Through this program, FMM supporters and partner patrons join together to shop, dine and play for mitochondrial disease.
